    This special issue of the Journal of Saturation Studies brings together theoretical and applied contributions to advance a unified understanding of saturation and collapse as intrinsic dynamics of complex systems. Across disciplines including mathematics, data science, institutional analysis, and health systems, the issue demonstrates that systems under sustained pressure do not fail suddenly but undergo progressive saturation, loss of adaptability, and eventual structural breakdown.

     

    The contributions presented in this issue are the result of coordinated research efforts across multiple study groups within the Manafi Institute for Saturation Studies (MISS). Recognizing the conceptual coherence and interdisciplinary significance of these works, the Institute’s management published this special issue to consolidate emerging insights.

  • Foundational Explorations in Saturation and Collapse: Introducing the SEA Model Across Healthcare, Art, Hospitality, and Mathematics

    The inaugural issue of The Journal of Saturation Studies (Volume 1, Issue 1) introduces the core fundamentals of the Saturation and Collapse (SEA) model—its triadic framework of stability, efficiency, and adaptability, phased progression from emergence to saturation and collapse, and intrinsic irreversibility—through clear applications across diverse domains. Contributions illustrate the model in healthcare management (early warning) , art and creative industries (digital saturation), hotel and hospitality management, and mathematics, establishing the SEA model as a versatile lens for systemic limits and transformation while inviting interdisciplinary engagement, critique, and extension.

    This issue of the journal primarily highlights the significance of the Theory of Saturation, with particular attention to its diverse forms and classifications across different fields of inquiry. The issue seeks to introduce new conceptual and methodological perspectives through which measurable forms of saturation may be identified, analyzed, and systematically integrated into scientific research. By emphasizing the measurability and applicability of saturation, this collection aims to encourage scholars from various disciplines to employ saturation-based approaches within their theoretical and empirical frameworks. Special consideration is given to the potential role of these approaches in quantitative research methodologies, where the operationalization and measurement of saturation may contribute to greater analytical precision, methodological innovation, and interdisciplinary development.
