Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they align with the aims and scope of the journal. Manuscripts deemed suitable will undergo a peer review process before a final decision on acceptance or rejection is made.

If you have any questions or encounter any issues during the submission, feel free to send us an email or a message on LinkedIn

https://www.linkedin.com/company/journal-of-creative-perspectives/

Before submitting, authors must obtain permission to publish any included materials, such as photos, documents, and datasets. All listed authors must consent to their identification as contributors. Where applicable, research must receive approval from an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk-reject a submission if it does not meet minimum quality standards. Before submission, ensure that the study design and research argument are well-structured and clearly articulated. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be self-explanatory. Adhering to these standards will improve the likelihood of securing peer reviewers. Once satisfied that your submission meets these criteria, please follow the checklist below to prepare your manuscript.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Journal of Creative Perspectives (JCP) recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including large language models (LLMs) and other AI-based writing, research, or editing tools, are increasingly used in academic work. JCP permits the use of AI tools as a supporting instrument in the research and writing process, subject to the following conditions.

For Authors

  • Authors may use AI tools to assist with tasks such as language editing, formatting, literature searching, or idea development.
  • AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author of a submission, and cannot be cited as an original source of knowledge or data.
  • Authors must disclose any use of generative AI that goes beyond basic language correction, editing, or formatting. This includes AI used to generate text, ideas, code, data analysis, or images included in the manuscript.
  • Disclosed AI use must be described in an AI Declaration, placed immediately before the Reference list/Bibliography of the manuscript. The declaration must state:
    • Which AI tool(s) were used (name and, where relevant, version)
    • What the tool was used for (e.g., "used to improve language clarity in the Discussion section," "used to generate an initial literature summary," "used to assist with data visualization code")
    • Confirmation that the author(s) reviewed, verified, and take full responsibility for the accuracy and originality of all AI-assisted content
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their entire manuscript, including any content produced with the help of AI tools.

Example AI Declaration:

"During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [tool name, e.g., ChatGPT/Claude] to [specific purpose, e.g., improve the readability of the Introduction section]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the content of the publication."

For Reviewers and Editors

  • Peer reviewers and editors must not use generative AI tools to write or generate their review reports or editorial assessments, due to risks including breaches of confidentiality of unpublished work, superficial or non-specific feedback, bias, and inaccurate or fabricated information.
  • Limited use of AI tools for language editing or rewriting of a reviewer's or editor's own draft comments is acceptable, provided no confidential manuscript content is submitted to third-party AI systems, and provided such use is disclosed to the editorial office upon request.

Oversight

Any routine use of automated or AI-based tools by the journal or editorial office itself (e.g., for plagiarism screening or administrative tasks) will be disclosed on this page. All use of automated tools, whether by authors, reviewers, or the journal, remains subject to human oversight — an editor or member of the editorial team will review flagged instances of undeclared AI use, text similarity, or other integrity concerns before a final editorial decision is made.

Research Articles

This section publishes original research that advances knowledge in design fields, including empirical studies, theoretical explorations, and applied research. Articles should follow a structured format, presenting clear research questions, methodologies, results, and discussions. Topics can range from digital design and human-computer interaction to sustainable design and interdisciplinary innovation.

Review Articles

  • This section includes in-depth reviews of theories, methodologies, and trends in design disciplines. Articles should critically analyze existing literature, identify research gaps, and suggest future directions. Topics may include industrial design, game design, architecture, UX/UI, media studies, and more.

Creative Design Reports

This section provides a platform for practice-based and experimental design work, including game concepts, interactive experiences, design prototypes, and visual storytelling. Submissions should document the creative process, design rationale, and potential impact. Supporting materials such as images, sketches, and interactive elements are encouraged.
