Peer Review Policy

Peer Review Process

The Journal of Creative Perspectives (JCP) operates a single-blind peer review process. In this model, the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors, while reviewers are aware of the authors' identities.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they fall within the journal's scope and meet the minimum standards of academic quality, originality, and presentation. Manuscripts that do not satisfy these requirements may be rejected without external review.

Submissions that successfully pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Clarity of objectives, argument, and conclusions
  • Soundness and appropriateness of the methodology (where applicable)
  • Quality of writing, structure, and presentation
  • Validity of references and supporting evidence

Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor may reach one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Accept with Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions Required
  • Reject

Where revisions are requested, authors will be invited to submit a revised manuscript together with a response to the reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation before a final editorial decision is made.

The Editor-in-Chief has full responsibility for all editorial decisions, including the final acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

The journal aims to complete the peer review process in a timely manner. Although review times may vary depending on reviewer availability and the nature of the submission, the average time from submission to publication is approximately 8–12 weeks.

 

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
  • Conduct objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.
  • Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  • Decline review invitations where a conflict of interest may affect impartiality.
  • Notify the editorial office of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, ethical concerns, or research misconduct identified during the review process.

 

Editorial Board Responsibilities

The Editorial Board is responsible for:

  • Defining the journal's editorial policies and academic standards.
  • Overseeing the integrity and fairness of the peer review process.
  • Supporting the Editor-in-Chief in maintaining the quality of published research.
  • Promoting ethical publishing practices and editorial independence.

Editorial decisions are made solely on the scholarly merit of submissions and are not influenced by commercial, financial, institutional, or personal interests.

 

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the evaluation, review, or publication of a manuscript.

Where a conflict of interest is identified, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure an impartial editorial process, including assigning alternative reviewers or editors where necessary.

 

Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

The Journal of Creative Perspectives is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows internationally recognised principles of responsible scholarly publishing.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal.

The journal does not tolerate:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Image manipulation that misrepresents research findings
  • Duplicate or redundant publication
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest
  • Other forms of research or publication misconduct

The editorial office may use plagiarism detection software to assess submitted manuscripts. Where ethical concerns arise before or after publication, the journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts, publish corrections, issue expressions of concern, or retract published articles when appropriate.

 

Open Access, Licensing, and Fees

The Journal of Creative Perspectives is a fully open access journal.

  • All published content is freely available immediately upon publication.
  • The journal does not charge submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees.
  • Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
  • Authors retain full copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Creative Perspectives publishes four issues per year (Quarterly).
